About this scholarship

The University of Auckland’s flagship doctoral scholarship provides a tax-free stipend of NZD $35,468 per annum (2026 rate, with annual CPI adjustment) for up to 42 months of full-time study, plus tuition fees for international students eligible under the domestic fees policy and the single student health insurance compulsory charge. Upcoming consideration rounds: 1 November 2026 and 1 February 2027.

Eligibility

Domestic and international PhD candidates applying for doctoral study; applications are considered in four rounds (1 Feb, 1 May, 1 Aug, 1 Nov)
